Support our Monastery

Our hidden lives of prayer can be a waste of time, talent and energy in the eyes of a world that values efficiency, productivity and consumerism.

For those who believe in the power of prayer, however, it is a life of wonder, awe and adoration. It is a life worthy of praise.

People of good faith, who believe in the success of the mission of the Church, have borne witness to the centrality of the contemplative life by supporting it from the very early centuries of the Church.

In our own day, Pope Francis affirms the contemplative life:

Dear Contemplative Sisters, without you what would the Church be like, or those living on the fringes of humanity ministering in the outposts of evangelization? The Church greatly esteems your life of complete self-giving. The Church counts on your prayers and on your self-sacrifice to bring today’s men and women to the good news of the Gospel. The Church needs you!

Thank you for supporting our life. The contemplative life is at the heart of the Church's Apostolic mission. It depends greatly on the collective effort of the people of God.

Your generosity benefits both the receiver and the giver. It is in giving that we receive, and in receiving that we grow in virtue. By giving and lovingly generously, we grow in the virtues of liberality, charity, almsgiving and generosity. By receiving, we grow in the virtues of gratitude, humility, magnificence (pertaining to the proper expenditure of money), and magnanimity.  We all can grow by giving and receiving. Therefore, prayer, fasting and almsgiving work together to make our world a better place.

We are all in the mission of building God's kingdom in our world. Let us support one another.

What else do we need?

Sometimes people ask if they can give us something specific. We are currently in need of yarn for our weaving workshop (otherwise known as the "looming project"). Thank you and God bless you!
